It is important to note that today 3 million French people have a vision lower than 3/10. This is a significant visual impairment, but it's nothing compared to the rest of the world. Nearly 285 million people have visual impairments. Among them, 39 million are blind and 246 million have low visual acuity. To improve the lives of these individuals, science and research are making great strides.

3 new treatments to combat low vision
3 treatments are currently being tested before being developed and offered to patients.
Brain stimulation
Brain stimulation consists of teaching the brain to see better through exercises. This would strengthen the neural connections responsible for vision. A new innovative method that acts on the brain should bear fruit.
The "Light Vision" project
The "Light Vision" project for connected glasses comes from a young start-up. It consists of providing a pair of glasses to the patient with the aim of projecting an image directly onto their retina. The retina therefore acts as a screen and the pupil controls the system, which is called "eye-tracking".
Cell grafting
Cell grafting consists of regenerating the retina and allowing patients to regain better vision. A great advance that could save the sight of millions of people around the world.
These three treatments will help combat visual blindness internationally and improve the lives of patients with very poor vision.
